It’s All About Me!

eBay’s About Me pages: It’s one way to get noticed, it’s a very good way to get noticed.  Getting noticed is good on eBay, it means more people which means more clicks which means more sales which means more money, which means more shiny things. Woot!

If you are selling on eBay or you intend to sell on eBay you should have an About Me page, eBay as with all things gives you a super cool resource totally free and most people overlook it.

Here’s a tip.. Don’t overlook it!!

It’s a great opportunity to tell your potential customers who you are, show them you’re a real person behind the shop, tell them which of your products you love and why. Tell them how you got into selling what you sell and what you want from life. Show them a few pics of yourself or your dog. It gives you the opportunity to connect, and connected people are much more likely to buy from you, not only that but and more likely to come back and buy again, and again.

You can show off some of your good feedback, if someone said something really nice about your customer service or product, why not cut and paste it into your about me page?

Not only is it a great customer interface tool and extra space to show off your stock it is the only place on eBay where you are permitted to place an external link back to your website, yes! you can actually put a one way link from one of the internets biggest selling platforms to your very own site. The SEO advantages alone make it worthwile. You are not however permitted to directly sell from the page you send visitors to but you can certainly send them to your main page for further info, and if there happens to be some products for sale on another page on your site than thats all good. It also provides us the opportunity to capture the customers contact details by offering something free after they enter their email address, this enables you to get back to them with other offers., the possibilities are endless.

 All in all the eBay About Me has a bunch of great opportunities that you can make use of totally free, so if you haven’t already make sure you get a page set up. You can do it very quickly from within eBay, just type “about me” into the help search box and you will be given all the info including a link to set one up.
